My brother met a friend in New York, and he and brother left for Syracuse, N.Y. The friends name was Jacob Levinson. . . . They were taken for father and son, so my brother changed his name from Sam Smolinski, our family name, to Levinson, and all the rest of our family, from then on, go by the name of Levinson." /

      P. 213: "My brother Sam, after his wife, mother of his children died 36 years old, he did not wait very long and he kept on getting married again keeping on to divorce one and to marry again"
      Dating is off by at least four years, since son Isaac was born in Syracuse in 1872.
