MS p. iv: "Of my family tree I only know of my parents, and their parents, my father Perez, his father Joshua, G.G. father Isaac Solomon, mother Ida Esther, [v] her father Aaron, I am named after fathers and Mothers father Joshua Aaron our family consisted of father, Mother, Sister Braini, brothers Isaac Solomon, Samuel, I, and Jehuda the youngest. " /
MS p. 23: "And after we were comfortably eshtablet [in Sejny], Mother took sick, and died on April 6th., 1873, at the age of 54." On the insert (p. 46a) he gives her date of birth as "1829," but this has to be a slip for "1819." /
P. 27: "I went to the city of Suwalk and I entered in the college of the Talmud. My father paid 20 rubles a year for my scholarship. Lodging I had at brother Isaac Sol, who came back home after serving eight years in the army. My board I got at my mother’s relatives, sisters and cousins." (This indicates that his mother came from Suwalki City.) /
P. 109: "At that time on Nov. 11th, 1887, the day the anarchists were hung for riot on the hay-market, my wife gave birth to our second daughter, named Esther after my mother." - LitvakSIG Lithuania marriages (record of Samuel's marriage).
